Reid is someone who values integrity, energy, hard work, and creativity in everything he undertakes. Originally from Torrance, California.
Reid has been happily married to his wife Christy for the past 39 years. Together, they have three amazing and responsible children, as well as seven grandkids in Washington and Michigan. Reid & Christy love to travel the world, explore new places, learn about the culture and history, and try new foods.
Reid joined the Navy in 1981 and has had a diverse range of careers over the past 40 years including working with his father David Schwartz at Island House Realtor, where Reid built their website, and managed the marketing for 25 years. However, in 2009 when Reid discovered his passion for making hand-tossed wood-fired pizza. It was life-changing. Reid built his own wood-fired pizza ovens and started a mobile wood-fired pizza and catering business with his wife and three adult children. Eventually, opening the popular Hot Rock Pizza restaurant in Oak Harbor.
Unfortunately, those dreams were burnt to a crisp when Hot Rock Pizza got sued for trademark infringement. Running a restaurant is a tough gig, as the profits are often slim. Sadly, financially, we just couldn’t make it work, says Reid. It was a challenging time for me financially and emotionally, as I had poured my heart and soul into the pizza business.
Taking a break to reboot himself and figure out what the next phase of life had in store.
Reid decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. When his friend Larry called one day to ask when he was going to get his real estate license. Diving headfirst into the real estate business in 2017. Now, with his wife Christy, they have built a Real Estate Business with eXp Realty and a team of experts to achieve their goal of providing aggressive, professional, and trustworthy service to their clients.
You see, says Reid, I represent homeowners to get them the best home at the best price and to protect their interests. I sold my own home years ago, “for sale by owner” once, and got sued over it. I didn’t do anything wrong but missed one stinking checkbox on a form. In the end, I decided to represent myself in court and I won the case. I even got a judgment to get paid for my time and expenses to defend myself. And the plaintiff (that’s the person who sued me) paid me in full. I never want to see anyone have to deal with the stress of a lawsuit over something as stupid as 1 check box. Real Estate Agents have insurance for that.
I will represent Your interests in any real estate transaction by providing Aggressive, Professional, and Trustworthy service.
